Project description
The challenge
In many rural communities, students must travel long distances each day to attend school. Walking under the hot sun or during the rainy season can be tiring, and this once made the journey to school almost impossible for a group of disadvantaged students at Sophy Primary School, leading to high absentee rates.
Our solution
18 bicycles have been delivered to a carefully selected cohort of disadvantaged students at Sophy Primary School, giving them a safer and faster way to travel to school.
The impact
With bicycles in hand, students can now arrive at school with more energy and focus on their studies, instead of arriving tired from a long walk. Teachers at Sophy Primary School have noted that transportation support like this plays an important role in helping students stay committed to their education.
Made possible by
We sincerely thank our generous supporter, Mr. Wouter Tuil, for making this possible. Your contribution continues to create real opportunities for students and helps build a brighter future through education.
