Project description

The challenge

Many girls in rural primary schools were unfamiliar with personal hygiene, menstruation and self-care. Some shared that their mothers or older sisters had never discussed these matters with them.

Our solution

KAMBOO Project conducted a series of Day for Girls workshops at four rural primary schools. Each participating student received a Day for Girls hygiene package, and our team made sure the girls received proper guidance on how to use the materials safely, correctly and with confidence.

The impact

A total of 295 girls took part. The sessions created a safe space for them to ask questions, understand their bodies and prepare for the changes ahead – improving health and hygiene while building confidence and a sense of dignity.
