BAMBOOS volunteer Sigrid has spent six weeks in Cambodia, working alongside our local team and schools near Siem Reap as part of the further development and expansion of our volunteer program.
With her background as a teacher, Sigrid leveraged her professional skills in this new context — testing and refining how Danish youth and teaching professionals can contribute meaningfully to our expanding work in Cambodia. During her stay, she standardized future volunteer stay formats, formalized school collaboration, explored accommodation options, and recommended activities to create a strong and balanced experience for future volunteers.
Her contribution will benefit future volunteers and children in Cambodia to breaking the poverty cycle through education, while giving Danish youth opportunities for personal development, responsibility, and a global outlook.
